Choice of Sessions - 2025/26 academic year

We offer a choice of part-time or full-time (funded or self-funded) places to reflect the variety of childcare needs amongst parents in our area.

Our nursery currently operates both morning and afternoon sessions, as well as offering a Lunchtime Club.

Morning session: 8.30am - 11.30am

Lunchtime Club: 11.30am - 12.15pm

Afternoon session: 12.15pm - 3.15pm

Families can select the sessions that best suit their requirements (subject to capacity and with a minimum of 15 hours per week). The 15 hours can be split over 5 mornings or, alternatively, into 2 full days and 1 morning.

We request a monetary contribution to cover the cost of our Lunchtime Club which covers 45 minutes per day of childcare plus the option of purchasing a hot school meal. 

2026/27 academic year

With effect from September 2026, our nursery will operate both morning and afternoon sessions, as well as offering a Lunchtime Club and Extended Day option. 

Our core funded sessions will be: 

Morning: 8.30am - 11.30am

Afternoon: 12.15pm - 3.15pm

Full day: 8.30am - 2.30pm

All children are entitled to 15 hours per week of funded hours. Eligible working families may also apply for additional funded hours to a maximum of 30 hours per week. At Malden Parochial, for those accessing 15 funded hours this can be made up of either 5 mornings, 5 afternoons or a combination of morning, afternoon and full day sessions (e.g. 2 full days and one half day). For those accessing 30 funded hours, this would be taken as 5 full days. 

Families can select the sessions that best suit their requirements (subject to capacity and with a minimum of 15 hours or 5 core sessions per week). 

Self-funding options: 

For families who are not entitled to the full 30 hours of government funding, we offer the option of self-funding the additional 15 hours. In addition, we offer the following extended hours options:

Lunchtime club: 11.30am - 12.15pm with the option to purchase a hot school meal. Lunchtime club is available to those attending the morning session only who wish to extend their session to include lunch. Lunchtime club is also available to those who are self-funding the afternoon sessions. 

Extended Day: 2.30pm - 3.15pm. The extended day option is available to those accessing government funding to attend for the full day who wish to extend their day to 3.15pm.

Wraparound care: Unfortunately, with effect from September 2026 we will not be offering wraparound care (outside of the times above) to nursery children. This is due to limited take up of the offer.

All places are term time only. The nursery is closed for all bank holidays and staff INSET days.  

Typical Nursery School Day
