Forest School is a long-term, nature-based educational process that aims to develop the whole person—physically, socially, cognitively, emotionally, and spiritually—within a woodland or natural environment. Grounded in core principles, its central purpose is to foster a deep, lifelong connection with the natural world and cultivate children who are  confident, resilient, and compassionate stewards of the land. It achieves this through holistic, play-based learning and self-directed exploration, empowering individuals to take calculated risks, build practical skills (like tool use and shelter building), and develop community through cooperation, mutual respect, and recognising diverse strengths. Learning is driven by the participants' intrinsic motivation, curiosity, and imagination, facilitated by a secure and nurturing framework.
