Early Birds and Night Owls

Currently, nursery children are able to access our school-run Early Birds Breakfast Club and Night Owls After School Care. Due to limited take-up of this offer, we had previously communicated our intention to withdraw access to wraparound care from September 2026. However, following feedback from parents, this decision is under review. 

Thank you to those who have shared feedback regarding the intention not to have a provision for wraparound care for nursery-aged children from September 2026. We recognise the importance of this service for working families and are currently exploring the feasibility of making this possible for September 2026. 

To ensure our compliance, the safety of the children and the success of the programme, any potential service must align strictly with current government guidelines and Ofsted requirements. These regulations dictate specific staffing ratios and environmental standards that we are legally bound to maintain.

To ensure both the sustainability of the program and the consistent maintenance of staffing ratios, any future provision would be subject to the following terms and conditions:

• Advance Termly Bookings: To secure staffing in accordance with legal ratios, bookings would need to be made and confirmed one full term in advance.
• Full Session Provision: We would offer paid full sessions only from 3.15-6pm but with flexible pick-ups.
• Commitment of a minimum of 3 days a week
• Minimum number of 3 children each day
• Maximum capacity of 8 children aged between 3 and 4
• Fixed days and no flexibility
• Cost will be in the region of £25 per day
• Likely only Monday to Thursday

We are currently assessing the feasibility of this model and need to know how many families will take up this offer. We understand that these requirements are a significant commitment for families, but they are essential to providing wraparound care for nursery. We realise these conditions may be restrictive and seem harsh, but we are being as transparent as we can with the situation we are in and why we need definite commitment from families before we can be certain this can go ahead. We need to understand if this model meets the needs of our families. Holiday club

We have also partnered with Fun Fest Holiday Club to give parents the option of flexible and affordable school holiday childcare, which is provided on the school premises from 8.15am to 6pm for all children from 3-12 years old during 9 weeks of school holidays. This is available to book separately with Fun Fest.
